12-HOUR SWAT VISA COURSE (ND & MN POST APPROVED)

The Red River Valley SWAT Team is once again providing a 12 hour Vehicle Pinning, Open Air Takedown, and Tactical Apprehension Course designed to provide officers and tactical operators with practical concepts and hands-on training related to vehicle containment operations, suspect apprehensions, and rescue considerations in dynamic environments. This course is designed to provide students with foundational and advanced concepts related to vehicle based tactical operations, communication, movement, and scenario-based problem solving. The successful completion of this course is not meant to be all encompassing and does not suggest that an operator is fully competent in all tactical vehicle operations. The fundamental skills this class will focus on are:

Vehicle Pinning and Tactical Apprehension Concepts

  • 2-Car, 3-Car, and 4-Car Vehicle Pins
  • Vehicle Approach Formations and Movements
  • Open Air Takedown Concepts and Containment
  • Suspect Extraction and Rescue Priorities

Vehicle Operations and Tactical Considerations

  • Vehicle Ballistics and Cover Considerations
  • Communication and Team Coordination
  • Less-Lethal, K9, and Patrol Integration
  • Low-Light and Dynamic Decision-Making Considerations

Operational Planning and Scenario-Based Training

  • Scenario-Based Tactical Evolutions
  • Full Mission Profiles and Stress Runs
  • Resource Management and Tactical Coordination
  • After Action Review and Performance Evaluation

The method of instruction will include limited classroom discussion and demonstrations, with the majority of the training dedicated to hands-on practical exercises.
